  • 1 Cup Oats(instant Oats/ Rolled Oats)
  • 1/2 cup Rava(Sooji)
  • 1/2 cup Curd(Pain Yoghurt)

  • one and a half Eno Salt(3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda)

For the seasoning

    • 1 tpsn Oil
    • 1 tpsn Channa Dal(if want to use)
    • 1 tpsn Urad Dal(if want to use)
    • 1 tpsn Mustard Seeds
    • 7 Curry Leaves(Chopped)
    • 1/2 Cummin Seeds

Steps Or Directions:

        • Firstly Take 1 cup oats in a Kadai and roast them for 4-5 minutes over medium flame.
        • After Roasted the Oats Turn off the flame and Transfer roasted oats to a plate and let it cool for 4-5 minutes. Now add the oats to the small jar of a mixer grinder.
        • Now Grind the Oats into a slightly coarse powder.
        • Take 1 tablespoon oil in the same Kadai/pan over medium flame and heat it. Add 1 teaspoon chana dal, 1/2 teaspoon urad dal, 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, 7-8 chopped curry leaves and 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds.
        • Now Saute the channa daal until it turns light brown and add 1/2 Cup Sooji in it.
        • Mix well until it turns light brown
        • The oats coarse Powder in it and cook for 1 minute.

Now add the mixture in a Large Bowl and add the 1/2 cup curd, chopped green chilies and chopped coriander(green daniya), Grated Carrot and 1/3 cup salt as per taste and mix well.

      • Mix and set aside for 5 to 7 mins. Meanwhile, get the steamer ready and grease the plates.
      • Add ½ tsp baking soda or 1 tsp eno. You can also reduce 1 to 2 pinches of soda. Mix well. You will begin to see bubbles in the mixture
      • Pour the batter to the greased plates. Wait until the water begins to boil rapidly, then put the idli stand inside. Cover and steam for 11 to 12 mins on a high flame. The color of the idli depends on the kind of oats used. I had used rolled oats, hence the yellowish color.
      • Allow them to cool down a bit. Grease a spoon or knife and remove the idli.
      • Serve oats idli hot with chutney or sambar
